| Tour details | ■Koshimizu Primeval Flower Garden (excerpt from Koshimizu Town website)■ Koshimizu Primeval Flower Garden is a natural flower garden formed on an approximately 8 km long sand dune between the Sea of Okhotsk and Lake Tofutsu, and you can see over 200 types of plants from the end of April to the end of September. Mokoto and the Shiretoko Mountain Range in the distance, and the JR Senmo Main Line running between the Sea of Okhotsk and Lake Tofutsu. ■Abashiri Prison■ Abashiri Prison under the jurisdiction of the Ministry of Justice. Abashiri Prison became famous due to the movie Abashiri Bangaichi starring Ken Takakura. It is not possible to tour the inside, so we will only show you the outside. ■Museum Abashiri Prison■ Located halfway up Mt. Tento, the prison was actually used at Abashiri Prison until 1980, and has been relocated in its entirety and opened to the public as a museum. It recreates the harsh lives of prisoners, including five single-story wooden cells spread out in a radial pattern. It vividly conveys what it was like back then. Groups will have a specialist, but individuals can also make reservations in advance, so it is definitely recommended. ■Tentoyama (Ryuhyokan)■ [Observation Deck] You can enjoy the magnificent view of the Sea of Okhotsk, Lake Abashiri, Lake Notoro, Lake Tofutsu, Lake Mokoto, and the Shiretoko Mountain Range. [Drift Ice Museum] Abashiri City's science museum with the theme of drift ice and the Sea of Okhotsk. ■Oshinkoshin Falls■ The name is said to have been derived from the Ainu word meaning ``a place where Scots spruce grows,'' and because the stream splits into two in the middle, it is also called ``Twin Beauty Falls.'' You can go up the stairs to the middle height of the waterfall, and the location where you can see it from the front creates a synergistic effect and leaves visitors impressed. Additionally, from the observation deck at the top of the waterfall, you can see the Sea of Okhotsk and the Shiretoko Mountain Range in the distance, especially during the drift ice season, when you can see the white ocean as far as the eye can see.
