＜Points＞
★On top of the pillars in the middle of the parapet of Nusumai Bridge are bronze statues symbolizing ``spring, summer, autumn, and winter,'' which were created using donations from citizens, and the bridge is attracting attention as a bridge with sculptures on top.
★The observation deck (Hosooka Daikanbo) located in the central part of the east side of Kushiro Marsh, offers a panoramic view of the large meandering Kushiro River, the majestic Kushiro Marsh, and Mt. Oakandake and Mt. Meakan in the distance, offering a spectacular view unique to eastern Hokkaido at sunset. The wetlands are beautiful and a must-see. Nearby is the Hosooka Visitors Lounge, where you can relax and enjoy the calm atmosphere where materials related to the wetland are displayed.
★At Chikuroen Higashiya Sohonten, a long-established Yabu soba store that opened in Kushiro in 1909, you can also enjoy the famous soba sushi, a course menu that is very popular with tourists.
Note: Yabu Soba "Chikuroen" is closed every Tuesday.
